About JSS Law College, Autonomous

JSS Law College, Autonomous, a professional autonomous institution, was founded in 1982. It has received an 'A' Grade re-accreditation from NAAC and has been acknowledged by the UGC as a "College with Potential for Excellence." JSS Law College holds the distinction of being the first law college in India to attain autonomous status. Since its inception, the college has been dedicated to developing innovative methods of delivering legal education. It has succeeded in establishing itself as one of the leading law colleges, attracting students from numerous foreign countries. The faculty, staff, and students all share a strong belief in and commitment to the institution's programs. The teaching and learning process occurs in a distinctive atmosphere characterized by mutual respect, active participation, and interaction. The college's verdant, pleasant, and clean campus has contributed to the disciplined environment, featuring ICT-enabled classrooms, an auditorium, and smart rooms. The college's library is spacious and well-stocked, boasting the latest and most authoritative legal compendiums of all Central and State Acts, lexicons, encyclopedias, legal reports and journals, and commentaries. It is open from 8 A.M to 9 P.M and is in the process of being equipped with online legal databases and ICT-enabled services. Additionally, the college provides a language lab, hostel, and sports center.


 About Model United Nations at JSS Law College

Since its inception, JSS Law College has been actively engaged in promoting the Model United Nations (MUN) initiative, providing its students with a platform to enhance their understanding of international affairs, diplomacy, and negotiation skills. The college took its first step into the world of Model UN on 28th March 2015 when it organized its inaugural Model United Nations conference. Since then, JSS Law College has continued to take pride in organizing several Model UN conferences, showcasing the dedication and commitment of its students and faculty. Over the years, students from JSS Law College have not only participated but also played key roles such as organizers, secretaries-general, chairpersons, and judges in Model United Nations conferences organized by prestigious institutions such as the Department of Studies in Law, University of Mysore, School of Law, University of Mysore, St. Philomena’s College, Autonomous, Vidyavardaka Law College, Mysore, and Acharya Institute of Graduate Studies, Bangalore.

The college believes in providing its students with practical exposure and opportunities to hone their leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, essential for their holistic development.
